Country Accommodation in La Alpujarra, Granada
OUR STORY
La Alpujarra was our destiny. It began to take shape when Enrique, just 4 years old, came from Valencia with his mother to take up her first teaching post in a village in La Contraviesa. They spent only a few months there, but made friendships that turned out to be lifelong. From then on the family came often and after some years, Enrique, as an adult, discovered Catifalarga. Captivated by its charm he began to visit several times a year. For Anna in her distant Poland, the name of La Alpujarra, which appears in a poem by the acclaimed poet Mickiewicz, evoked a longing for distant and unknown lands. When she finally came here, she fell in love with the villages and the majestic Sierra Nevada.
So it couldn’t be any other way than to come, with our daughters, to live and work in La Alpujarra. In the country house Catifalarga, with its different rooms, we are committed to the nature that surrounds us, sustainability, quality and tranquillity. We want to share with our guests the best of this wonderful corner of Andalucía: the views of the mountains and the sea, the pure air, the crystal clear water, the gastronomy and everything else that this rich land has to offer. We are fascinated by the history of La Alpujarra, never cease to be amazed by the heritage of the Arabs, the ancient owners of this area, we love to play sports or walk along the endless mountain tracks, observe the wildlife that surrounds this great environment, or simply watch our daughters grow up and enjoy life immersed in nature.
